How to choose a wiper
Speaking of wipers, many riders may not care. In the sum of cars, the wiper is a relatively small component. However, according to the International Driving Safety Survey, the rate of traffic accidents caused by aging wipers is about five times higher than usual when driving in rainy weather. If something is wrong with your wiper, fix or replace it as soon as possible. There are roughly two types of wipers, one is the traditional intermittent wiper, which is the most common wiper, with three to four sections, which are adjusted by the driver according to the rain and line of sight; The other is the rain bead sensor type, which is mostly used in mid-to-high-end models. A good wiper must have the characteristics of heat resistance, cold resistance, acid and alkali resistance, corrosion resistance, can fit the windshield, reduce the burden on the motor, low noise, strong water repellency, soft and does not scratch the windshield, etc., so that you can see clearly. Maintenance staff recommend that to ensure your driving safety, it is best to replace the wipers once a year. 1. First find out what kind of wiper type your car uses, you can refer to the car manual to see the wiper model indicated on it. 2. Pay attention to whether the way the struts are connected to the wiper rocker arm matches. Some of the arms are screwed to the rocker arm, while others are locked with a buckle. 3. Pull up the wiper and touch it with your fingers on the cleaned rubber wiper to check whether there is any damage and the elasticity of the rubber blades. If the blades are aged, hardened, and cracked, the wiper is unqualified. 4. During the test, place the wiper switch at various speed positions to check whether the wiper maintains a certain speed at different speeds. Especially in the intermittent working state, it is also necessary to pay attention to whether the wiper maintains a certain speed when it is in motion. 5. Check the wiping status and whether the wiper rod has uneven swing or missing scraping. If the following three conditions occur, this wiper is not qualified. First, the swing is not smooth, and the wiper is not beating normally; Second, the contact surface of the rubber and the glass surface cannot be completely fitted, resulting in wiping residue; Third, after wiping, the glass surface presents a water film state, and fine stripes, fog and linear residues are produced on the glass. 6. During the test, attention should be paid to whether the motor has abnormal noise, especially when the wiper motor "buzzes" and does not rotate. This indicates that the mechanical transmission part of the wiper is rusted or stuck, and the wiper switch should be turned off immediately to prevent the motor from being burned. 7. Some people think that the longer the length of the wiper blade, the larger the area of the brush, and the better the field of vision. In fact, wiper blades are not always better. Although lengthening the length of the wiper blades can increase the visible area, it will also increase the burden on the wiper motor and wiper rod. Of course, it is possible to lengthen it, but it must not interfere with the normal operation of the wipers.
